I Will Bring You Home

from Fish House Blues by Daniel Shaw

/

about

Passing the new sheltered housing in Street and thinking it didn’t look too bad. I had lost a friend a bit before writing this who I played in a band with for many years. I was thinking about the great big ancient trees, the knobbly Oaks that have sometimes survived up on Street Hill in amongst the youngsters. Sometimes they survive for hundreds of years and sometimes, one day you just find an old Oak has been felled by the wind and then it is gone.

lyrics

You'll find these lyrics appearing in some of my other songs on different albums too...(Mossflower) they have the same theme and were written about the same time
